Animoto: Video killed the Slide Shows…
July 9, 2009 by editor
Animoto allows you to create videos based on images stored on your iPhone. Apple iPhone and iPod touch users have now a much better way to create and view high-quality music videos while on the go.
Animoto iPhone app lets you select photos from your picture library, select a music for the background and it creates a slideshow/video from your pics on the fly. You can watch it on your iPhone or email it to friends.
How to Create a Video in Animoto?
- Sign up for a free account,
- Choose to do a short 30-sec video or a full length video,
- Choose the pictures from the photo album,
- Then wait a few mins when Animoto gets your images and processes them,
- Once it grabs your pictures you can choose to keep them all or delete the ones you don’t want,
- Then choose a song from their collection or upload your own from the music library,
- Then finalize your video with a title and description and let Animoto works it’s magic.
- All heavy lifting is performed by Animoto’s servers.
- Email the video, download it or even embed in a webpage to share in with others.
The last release of Animoto app is able to completely sync with existing web accounts so you can create a video with the web-site and see it on the iphone and viceversa.
Animoto isn't a powerful mixing tool for creating visual presentations because you have no control over how the finished product will appear. However, if you are looking for a fun and easy way to share photos amongst friends, then this is a truly great service.
The Animoto iPhone app is available now in the iTunes App Store and is free! Requires at least a free Animoto account for video creation. You can download the app here!
